Kota Kinabalu: Tabs Safa Bandaraya is set to field eight teams to compete in this year’s Borneo Cup Football tournament scheduled to start here in September.
Its deputy chairman Lokman Sunggim said they will take part in the Under-10, 12, 14, 16 and 18 age groups in the boys’ category.
“We expect very tough competition from all the teams, especially those from overseas. This will be good exposure for the players and we hope they will give their very best,” he said.
According to him, the selection process of players is currently underway under the guidance of head coach Hassan Madisah.
“The complete list of players will be announced soon. Coach Hassan and his team have been briefed on their objectives and are fully committed to preparing the team to perform at their best.”
