Looking for next of kin
Kota Kinabalu: Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) Kota Kinabalu is looking for the next kin of a deceased 50 year old man whose remain have not been claimed.

QEH Director Dr Abd Kahar Abd Asis said the deceased has been identified as Lai Vui Hiung, a Malaysian Chinese Buddhist. His last known address was MDLB 918, Lorong 1, Taman Pak Tak, Batu 7, 90702 Sandakan, Sabah.

He said Lai was admitted to the hospital’s Emergency Department on June 9, 2026, and was pronounced dead at 8.21pm on June 11, 2026.

Abd Kahar added that thus far, no next-of-kin has come to claim the remains. The body has been sent to the QEH Forensic Medical Department.

A police report regarding the matter was lodged on June 23, 2026.
