Kota Kinabalu: Veteran politician Datuk David Chong Ket Sui said many Chinese supporters have left Warisan because it is in the opposition and cannot help them.
Referring to reports in Chinese newspapers in which Warisan President Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal acknowledged that many members had left the party, Chong said the development reflected growing disappointment among supporters.

“The party already lost many people. More than 10,000 members have left Warisan,” he claimed, adding the absence of Chinese representation in the State Cabinet also contributed to dissatisfaction.
“Now there is no Chinese minister. Nobody can help the Chinese community. This is very important.”
“They say this is natural. Every party accepts this. They say it doesn’t make the party weak, although many people have come out. They cannot struggle for the people’s interest because they are the opposition,” he said.
He said many supporters regretted backing the party.
