Kota Kinabalu: Thailand has unveiled a major initiative to position its healthcare and medical industry as a new driver of national growth, aiming to establish the country as a global medical hub through investment promotion, innovation, and international collaboration.
At the International Healthcare Week 2026 (IHW2026), Rose Rungphech Chitanuwat, Regional Portfolio Director for Asean at Informa Markets, said Thailand is advancing biopharmaceutical development as part of its national strategy to strengthen drug security.
She said the media were invited to gain a better understanding of the country’s healthcare strategy and its role in strengthening Thailand’s healthcare economy.
Informa Markets, the event organiser, worked closely with Thailand’s Ministry of Public Health to promote the country’s medical, wellness and spa industries, while providing hospitals and healthcare companies with opportunities to explore new innovations and expand into Southeast Asia’s growing healthcare market.
