Kota Kinabalu: The Sabah Government is engaging the Federal Finance Ministry (MoF) and relevant federal agencies to improve the implementation mechanism of the targeted diesel subsidy programme in the State, which took effect this month.
Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor said a follow-up meeting involving State Government agencies, Federal MoF and the relevant federal agencies would be held on July 17 under the chairmanship of the State Secretary.
He said the expansion of the targeted diesel subsidy programme to Sabah, which began on July 1, was also discussed at the State Cabinet meeting on July 13.
Hajiji said the State Government viewed seriously the issues raised by various stakeholders regarding the programme.
He said the Federal MoF and the relevant government agencies had been instructed to further examine the issues and consider appropriate recommendations to address the concerns faced by those affected.
