Kota Kinabalu: A leading counsel in the ongoing inquest into the death of Zara Qairina Mahathir has lodged a police report urging a complete and transparent investigation into the latest incident of a former colleague of hers also allegedly jumping off the first floor of the school.
Datuk Ram Singh said it is important for the police to establish if it is true that the Form Two girl left a suicide note and broke her leg in the incident at SMK Tun Datu Mustapha in Kinarut, Papar, last Wednesday.

The department only confirmed the incident 48 hours after the Daily Express broke the story, saying only that she is stable and did not suffer serious injuries.
Ram said he was not aware whether the parents in the latest case had lodged a report.
“I want the police or State Education Department (JPNS) to conduct a comprehensive investigation.” Ram said there is need to stop all these jumping issues that have been happening lately, referring to also cases in the peninsula.
“We want to stop all these issues, especially involving children around that age.

“I’m doing this as a father and parent that the inquest has not even been completed and yet another incident happened,” he said, after lodging the report together with fellow lawyer Prem Elmer Gagasan at Luyang police station, Sunday.
He said the report was lodged with public interest in mind and not to hurt the authorities in any way.
