KUCHING: Young Sarawak vocalist Taylor Louise (
pic) has won first prize and the Excellent Young Talent Special Prize in the 10- to 12-year-old Vocal category at an international competition held at Carnegie Hall in New York.
Taylor shared the achievement in a Facebook post, describing the opportunity to perform on the renowned stage as a dream come true.

She said she was honoured to represent both Sarawak and Malaysia as the only participant from Sarawak in the competition.
Taylor also expressed gratitude to Sarawak Minister of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Datuk Seri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah and the Ministry of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Sarawak (MTCP) for supporting her trip to New York.
She thanked her vocal coach, Sabrina Tnay, for her guidance and dedication, as well as her parents for their unwavering support throughout her musical journey.
"From a little girl in Kuching to the stage of Carnegie Hall... dreams really do come true," she wrote.
Taylor also dedicated her achievement to Sarawak and expressed gratitude to God for the opportunity.
