BEAUFORT: A hydroponic farming project funded by the Federal Rural Development Ministry has reached 60 per cent completion in Kampung Rancangan Klias.
The project, which currently involves 30 participants, aims to improve the socio-economic status of the village’s residents.
Klias Assemblyman and Assistant Minister of Local Government and Housing, Datuk Isnin Aliasnih, stated that the Federal Rural Development Ministry had allocated RM100,000 under the initiative for each Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK).
“This project is aimed at enhancing the socio-economic status of the villagers,” said Isnin during the launch of the Hydroponic Farming Basic Course in Kg Rancangan Klias.
“The project is expected to produce high-quality crops that are guaranteed clean and safe,” he said.
The introductory hydroponic farming course was conducted to provide participants with knowledge of systematic and proper methods for hydroponic vegetable cultivation.
“I urge participants to take this opportunity seriously and heed the government’s call to help lift the people out of poverty by increasing their incomes,” Isnin said.
He hoped the project would benefit the villagers while equipping participants with valuable knowledge.
“I hope this project will continue and bring long-term benefits to the community.”
Isnin also encouraged other JKKKs to emulate the efforts of JKKK Rancangan Klias in seizing opportunities to enhance the socio-economic development of their respective villages.
The event was attended by JKKK Chairperson Chicknah Sidim and other community leaders from Kampung Rancangan Klias.
