Kota Kinabalu: Police have taken note of social media posts regarding the planned "Gempur Rasuah 3.0" and "Bangkit Sabahan 2.0" peaceful assemblies scheduled to be held around the City on July 4 and 5, said acting City police chief Supt Syed Lot Syed Ab Rahman.
He said the City police headquarters has so far received one notification from the organisers of the "Bangkit Sabahan 2.0" assembly, while no notification has been received for the proposed "Gempur Rasuah 3.0" gathering.
Syed Lot reminded organisers that they are required to submit a notification to the district police chief with jurisdiction over the venue before holding any peaceful assembly.
He said organisers are also responsible for ensuring the assembly is conducted peacefully, complies with the law, does not disrupt public order or traffic, and does not compromise public safety.
He added that organisers must ensure no offences are committed during the gathering, including acts or statements involving 3R (race, religion and royalty) issues, sedition or provocation, warning that police will take firm action against any breaches of the law while advising the public to avoid participating in gatherings that could disrupt traffic and daily activities in the city.
