Tenom: A total of RM350,000 has been donated by Datuk Rahmahjan Sulaiman Khan, a strategic partner of the Tenom District Education Office (PPD), to upgrade the office’s open hall, providing better facilities and a more comfortable venue for educational programmes across the district.
Tenom District Education Officer Jamilah Talib said the contribution reflects Datuk Rahmahjan’s strong commitment to supporting education and the well-being of schools in Tenom.
She said the close partnership between PPD Tenom and its strategic partners has helped make many initiatives possible, benefiting teachers, students and the local community.
The entire donation will be used to improve the PPD Tenom Open Hall, which serves as the main venue for training courses, workshops, seminars, meetings, official events and various education-related programmes.
“The upgraded hall will provide a safer and more comfortable environment for users. Once completed, it will also be able to accommodate more participants, making educational programmes more effective and efficient,” she said during the PPD Tenom 2026 Excellence Synergy Ceremony held recently at SM Tsung Tsin Hall.
Jamilah said the upgraded facility will benefit all schools under PPD Tenom, as many district-level education programmes are organised there.
She added that a better-equipped and more comfortable venue would support teacher professional development programmes and student learning activities.
Jamilah also expressed her appreciation to Datuk Rahmahjan for his support and willingness to work closely with PPD Tenom to strengthen the district’s education sector.
She said the donation shows that improving education requires support from all sectors, including private organisations and individuals who care about the future of young people.
“PPD Tenom welcomes more strategic partners who wish to contribute to education development. Support like this not only helps improve facilities but also plays an important role in raising the quality of education in the district,” she said.
She hopes the partnership between PPD Tenom and Datuk Rahmahjan will continue to grow through more programmes and initiatives that will benefit education and help produce knowledgeable, skilled and competitive future generations.
