Kota Kinabalu: Sabah Deputy Chief Minister II and Minister of Finance Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun stressed that every public complaint raised through media channels should be investigated and acted upon promptly without waiting for further instructions, as a demonstration of the Government’s commitment to delivering efficient, responsive and accountable public services.
He expressed hope that continuous efforts would be made to further strengthen the efficiency and professionalism of the public service, ensuring that civil servants remain responsive to current needs and are able to meet the expectations of the people through the delivery of government services that are more efficient, effective, and of higher quality.
Masidi made these remarks while receiving a courtesy call from the newly appointed State Secretary, Datuk Zainudin Aman.
During the meeting, Masidi congratulated Zainudin on his appointment. He replaces Datuk Safar Untong who has retired.
“Zainudin’s experience and leadership will further strengthen the delivery of public services and support the State Government’s development agenda for the well-being of the people of Sabah,” he said.
Masidi said the State Government will continue prioritising development and public facilities in rural areas to improve the wellbeing, comfort and quality of life of residents while making their daily activities easier.
He said quality public facilities not only improve living standards but also create opportunities for local economic growth, strengthen community activities and help build more cohesive communities.
“Facilities such as multipurpose halls are not merely venues for events and community programmes but also serve as centres that bring people together and strengthen unity among residents,” he said.
Masidi said the State Government would ensure that development projects and public facilities are implemented according to schedule and meet the required specifications and standards so that the public could benefit fully.
“The government will continue to emphasise rural development to ensure that no community is left behind and that every Sabahan has the opportunity to enjoy the benefits of the state’s progress on an equitable basis,” he said.
He also called on the public to continue preserving the spirit of unity, cooperation and mutual respect, describing these as the foundation of harmony and progress within the community.
