KOTA KINABALU: The Sabah Housing and Real Estate Developers Association (Shareda) will feature more than 80 exhibition booths showcasing property developments with a combined gross development value (GDV) of about RM4 billion at its upcoming Property Exhibition (PropEX) 2026, to be held at the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC) from July 10 to 12.
Its Organising Chairman, Wilson Loke, said this year’s edition has been expanded beyond a traditional property exhibition, with industry suppliers joining developers to create a one-stop destination for prospective homebuyers and property investors.
He said the PropEX 2026 organising committee has reimagined the exhibition layout and broadened the exhibitor mix to provide visitors with everything related to the property industry under one roof.
“The three-day event, themed Keys To Your Future: Own, Build and Thrive, will also feature a series of public talks and forums on July 11, beginning at 1.30pm. PropEX 2026 will be officially opened by the Minister of Local Government and Housing, Datuk Dr Mohd Arifin Mohd Arif, at 2pm on July 10.
“Among the highlights is a forum titled Life, Flow and Design, bringing together experts in feng shui, architecture and interior design. Other sessions include market insights and investment opportunities presented by Knight Frank and Belive, as well as a briefing by GreenRE, a Shareda partner, on green building certification.
“All these sessions are open to the public, although seating is limited. My advice is to come early to secure a spot,” he said.
Speaking at a press conference on PropEX 2026, Wilson, who is also Shareda’s Vice-President, said a new Business Networking Session will be introduced to connect developers, bankers and other industry stakeholders, fostering collaboration and exploring new business opportunities.
To cater to families, he said PropEX 2026 will also feature children’s activities, including a colouring competition and a Young Investor Property Challenge.
“Visitors will also have opportunities to participate in lucky draws offering prizes such as return flight tickets to Shanghai and Guangzhou, Sony speakers and headphones, Starbucks hampers and vouchers, as well as café vouchers.
“The lucky draw sessions are scheduled for July 11 at 2.40pm and 4.45pm, and July 12 at 4.55pm, so visitors should not miss out,” he said.
Wilson added that social media influencers will be present throughout the event to create content and engage with members of the public. Despite rising material costs and increasing property prices, he believes the current market remains favourable for prospective buyers.
“Now is the time to buy. PropEX 2026 is where you can explore your options, meet developers face-to-face, and take that next step.
“PropEX 2026 provides an opportunity for buyers to compare projects, engage directly with developers and make informed purchasing decisions,” he said.
The exhibition will be open daily from 10am to 9pm at SICC from July 10 to 12.
