Kota Kinabalu: Women should seize new business opportunities and strengthen their entrepreneurial knowledge to remain competitive in an increasingly challenging business environment, said Sabah Women’s Advisory Council (MPWS) Chairman Datuk Dr Rosmawati Lasuki.

She said women entrepreneurs must be prepared to adapt, explore new opportunities and continuously improve their knowledge and business strategies to succeed.

“Competition today is more challenging and wider in scope. Success does not come easily without hard work and strong commitment.

“I urge women, especially entrepreneurs, not to waste the opportunities available. Women play an important role and make many sacrifices in supporting their families and communities,” she said when closing the MPWS-Insken Talk Series #2 here, Saturday.

The 2026 D-MAX also introduces an 8-speed automatic gearbox with sequential shift across the range, including the Single Cab variant, making it the first pick-up truck in Malaysia to offer an automatic transmission in that body style.
Rosmawati said perseverance is one of the key factors to achieving business success.

“Every challenge presents an opportunity. We must be willing to move forward, embrace new approaches and venture into new areas.

“We also need to strengthen our businesses through effective marketing strategies and by making full use of available opportunities,” she said.

The programme, organised by MPWS and the National Entrepreneurship Institute (Insken), featured a sharing session by entrepreneur Norsiah Ahiddin, who spoke about how her Matunggong-based brand expanded into international markets.

Participants also attended Insken’s Bizklinik consultation session, which provided business advisory services, while advocate and solicitor Noor Azah Abd Rahman delivered a talk on the financial exploitation of women in business and within the family.

A total of 22 women entrepreneurs from across Sabah attended the programme.
