Kota Kinabalu: Women have been encouraged to actively pursue entrepreneurship by identifying new business opportunities while strengthening their knowledge and entrepreneurial values.
Sabah Women's Advisory Council (MPWS) chairperson Datuk Rosmawati Lasuki said today's business environment is more challenging and requires women entrepreneurs to be more courageous in moving forward through hard work, commitment and perseverance.
She said women, particularly entrepreneurs, should seize available opportunities from various sectors, strengthen their marketing strategies and embrace new approaches to grow their businesses, while noting that every challenge also presents opportunities.
Rosmawati said this when officiating at the closing of Talk Series #2, organised by MPWS and the National Entrepreneurship Institute (INSKEN), on Saturday, where entrepreneur Norsiah Ahiddin shared her experience of expanding a local brand from Matunggong into international markets.
The programme also featured an Insken Bizklinik consultation session, a legal briefing by advocate and solicitor Noor Azah Abd Rahman on the financial exploitation of women in business and the household, and was attended by 22 women small-scale entrepreneurs from across Sabah.
