PENAMPANG: Nirvana Memorial Park in Tuaran is studying plans to develop another exclusive premium-class Bumiputera memorial zone in Sabah following strong demand for its Langadon Memorial Zone.

Its marketing manager, Leon Pui said the Langadon Memorial Zone, introduced in 2021 as Malaysia's first dedicated indigenous memorial section for Christian Bumiputera families, had received an encouraging response, prompting the company to consider expanding the concept to meet growing demand.

He said the proposed development reflected the company's appreciation for the continued trust and support of Sabah's native community, adding that "Langadon", derived from the Kadazan-Dusun phrase La nga don oku dika meaning "I Miss You", was introduced to provide memorial services that are culturally meaningful to local communities.

Leon said this at the third Kids Kaamatan Pageant, known as The Little Precious 2025, organised by Nirvana Memorial Park at ITCC Mall here, where Senator Datuk Phoong Jin Zhe officiated as guest of honour.

The 2026 D-MAX also introduces an 8-speed automatic gearbox with sequential shift across the range, including the Single Cab variant, making it the first pick-up truck in Malaysia to offer an automatic transmission in that body style.
He said the pageant was part of the company's community initiatives to celebrate the Kaamatan Festival, promote self-confidence among children, preserve Sabah's multicultural traditions and strengthen engagement with the public while promoting the Langadon Memorial Zone, with contestants competing in two age categories of five to eight years and nine to 12 years.
