Kota Kinabalu: The Sabah branch of the Institution of Engineers Malaysia (IEM) reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the Government’s infrastructure development agenda during a courtesy call on Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Mustapha Sakmud, on Monday.
Sabah IEM chairman Tan KJ said the meeting highlighted the importance of strengthening collaboration between the engineering profession and the Government to advance sustainable and resilient infrastructure development in the State.
He said both parties exchanged views on infrastructure-related issues and strategic engineering initiatives aimed at supporting Sabah’s economic growth and improving the quality of life of its people.
Tan said Sabah IEM stands ready to contribute its professional expertise and technical knowledge to assist the Government in the planning, design, implementation and maintenance of critical infrastructure projects.
Mustapha welcomed the visit, expressed appreciation for Sabah IEM’s continued support and contributions towards nation-building, and both sides agreed to strengthen cooperation in addressing Sabah’s infrastructure challenges through practical, sustainable and innovative engineering solutions.
