BANGKOK: The Thai government has announced a major initiative to elevate its healthcare and medical industry into a primary New Growth Engine while positioning the nation as a global medical hub.

Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul (pic) officiated the opening ceremony of International Healthcare Week 2026 (IHW2026), one of the region's largest healthcare and medical industry events.

Organised by Informa Markets Thailand at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Centre from July 8-10, the exhibition brings together more than 1,200 companies, healthcare experts, investors, and policymakers from over 100 countries.

The next edition of the event, IHW2027, is scheduled to be held in Kuala Lumpur from July 13-15 next year.
