BANGKOK: Thailand's Bhirombhakdi family matriarch has withdrawn her lawsuit against her younger son, marine conservationist Siranudh "Psi" Scott (

Chiranuj Bhirombhakdi had filed the lawsuit in February under a 1908 law enforcing filial duty after a long-running family dispute, but said she decided to withdraw the case following court mediation.
The legal dispute gained widespread attention after Psi, 29, publicly alleged in May that he had been sexually abused by his older brother, Sunit, allegations that Sunit has strongly denied.
The allegations triggered a crisis within the Bhirombhakdi family, owners of Singha beer through the Boon Rawd Brewery Group, and Sunit was subsequently removed from his executive roles in the company.
In a statement to local media, Chiranuj said resorting to legal action had been deeply painful, adding that repeated attempts to resolve the family's differences privately had failed and that she hoped ending the case would reopen dialogue.
She also said she had remained publicly silent because the matter was highly sensitive, stressing that she loved both her sons equally and would accept any future legal proceedings involving them.
Psi, who has a large social media following and is known for his open-water swimming achievements, said public support from Thailand and abroad had helped him pursue justice after years of remaining silent, adding that he no longer wished to be associated with the Singha name.
