Kota Kinabalu: Police are investigating allegations of bullying and physical assault involving two primary school pupils in Kota Kinabalu, acting City police chief Supt Syed Lot Syed Ab Rahman said.
He said the children's father lodged a police report on July 7, alleging that both his children had been subjected to repeated harassment and physical assaults by a male pupil.
Preliminary investigations found that a 12-year-old girl was allegedly kicked in the back of the head by her classmate on July 6, while her younger brother was allegedly kicked in the stomach by the same pupil the following day.
Syed Lot said the girl reportedly suffered headaches, while the boy was left traumatised and fearful, with the complainant also alleging that the suspect had repeatedly harassed the siblings through insulting remarks and physical intimidation in class since the start of the school term.
He said police are recording statements from the victims, witnesses, teachers and school administrators while efforts continue to identify the suspect and determine the extent of the victims' injuries, with the case being investigated under Section 323 and Section 507(b) of the Penal Code.
