Kota Kinabalu: A 27-year-old man pleaded not guilty in the Sessions Court on Friday to cheating a businessman of RM31,050 over the proposed rental of premises for a go-kart business.
Racha Willie, from Lawas, Sarawak, allegedly induced Ng Chin Wei into believing he could secure premises for the business at KK Sentral, causing the complainant to hand over the money between July 27 and Oct 16, 2025, at the Kota Kinabalu International Airport parking area.

He was charged under Section 420 of the Penal Code, which carries a maximum penalty of 10 years' imprisonment, whipping and a fine upon conviction.
Sessions Court Judge Amir Shah Amir Hassan fixed Aug 13 for further mention and granted bail of RM10,000 with RM5,000 in two local sureties, while ordering Racha to report to the nearest police station once a month, surrender his passport, if any, and refrain from contacting prosecution witnesses.
Deputy Public Prosecutor Nurul Shafeerah Mad Iskim appeared for the prosecution, while Racha was represented by counsel Bartholomew Jingulam.
