KOTA MARUDU: Determined to make her school and district proud, Sekolah Rendah Advent (SRA) Sungoi pupil Dextra Eldora Fiorenza Masius
(pic) has set her sights on winning the gold medal in the Girls’ Under-12 Shot Put event at the 2026 Sabah Schools Sports Council (MSSS) Athletics Championships.
The state-level championship will be held at the Ranau Sports Complex from July 20 to 24, bringing together the best young athletes from across Sabah.

Dextra earned her place in the Kota Marudu contingent after delivering an impressive performance at the district-level competition.
She heads into the championship with a personal best throw of 9.0 metres, positioning herself as one of the district’s promising medal contenders.
Despite anticipating stiff competition from the State’s top young throwers, the determined athlete remains focused on producing her best performance and hopes to bring home gold for SRA Sungoi and the Kota Marudu district.
The MSSS Athletics Championships serve as Sabah’s premier schools athletics competition, providing a platform for talented student-athletes to compete at the highest State level while identifying future athletes to represent Sabah in national competitions.
