KOTA KINABALU: SBC Corporation Berhad has launched The Quayside, a significant Jesselton Quay Masterplan waterfront component, to transform the city’s coastline into a vibrant tourism hub.

CEO Datuk Sia Teong Heng said the 400-metre managed walkway will offer alfresco dining, leisure F&B outlets, and heritage-themed attractions.

The Quayside, located beside the Sabah International Convention Centre and international cruise terminal, is expected to become a new social hotspot.

Set for full completion by 2028 alongside the final waterside tower, Q Suites, the 10-acre site will feature weekend markets, art festivals, and local crafts under the theme “New Gaya Street meets Xintiandi.”

The 2026 D-MAX also introduces an 8-speed automatic gearbox with sequential shift across the range, including the Single Cab variant, making it the first pick-up truck in Malaysia to offer an automatic transmission in that body style.
SBC sees this development as a key step toward positioning Kota Kinabalu as a leading regional destination for culture, food, and leisure.
