Kota Kinabalu: Five enterprises were named State winners of the Shell LiveWire Malaysia Sabah Challenge at Plaza Shell on Friday, recognising local entrepreneurial talent under Shell's enterprise development initiative.
The event, officiated by State Industrial Development, Entrepreneurship and Transport Deputy Permanent Secretary Suhaib Ismail, marked the 11th year of the programme, which attracted more than 60 participants before Bunga Nabalu & Co, Maryland, Einstronic Enterprise Sdn Bhd, Dinma Trading and Rose's Heritage TeaLinsouBunga emerged as the winners.
The participants underwent an entrepreneurship bootcamp before 10 finalists advanced to the final pitching round, where they presented their business proposals and were assessed for their innovation and growth potential.
Sabah Shell Petroleum Company Limited General Manager Alexon Jong said Shell LiveWire continues to provide aspiring entrepreneurs with a platform, guidance and support to develop sustainable businesses that create jobs and benefit local communities.
Each winning enterprise received a RM10,000 start-up grant, a year-long business coaching programme and access to the global LiveWire network, while the judging panel comprised Daily Express Senior Editor Leonard Alaza, Sabah Creative Economy and Innovation Centre Assistant Director for Capacity Building and Ecosystem Uliantie Sarjuni and Shell Malaysia Senior Manager for Mobility Sales and Operations Dr Alex Pega, with Shell Malaysia Director of Corporate Relations Cindy Lopez also attending the event.
