PUTRAJAYA: Applications for diesel subsidy registration under the Subsidised Diesel Control System (SKDS) for a new sector – Land Transport (Private Company – Jeeps and Pick-up Trucks) – is open effective Friday (July 3).
Minister of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali said the subsidy eligibility would take effect from July 15, 2026, subject to application approval and ownership of a fleet card.
He said this new sector of Land Transport (Private Company – Jeeps and Pick-up Trucks) category is aimed at assisting micro and small businesses operating as sole proprietorships and partnerships.

“As for the eligibility criteria, business owners are required to register their vehicles as commercial vehicles under the Private Company Use Class/Code (AE) in the Road Transport Department’s (JPJ) MySikap system.
In addition, the businesses of this new sector must also be registered as sole proprietorships or partnerships with the Companies Commission of Malaysia (SSM), or with the relevant local authorities in Sabah and Sarawak,” he said, Friday.
According to Armizan, the expansion of this subsidy for the new sector is intended to benefit micro and small businesses operating as sole proprietorships and partnerships.
“Therefore, the eligible business owners are urged to submit their applications as soon as possible through the MySubsidi portal at https://mysubsidi.kpdn.gov.my.,” he said.
“With the addition of this new sector, the SKDS now covers three sectors - Land Transport (Public), Land Transport (Consumer Goods) and Land Transport (Private Company – Jeeps and Pick-up Trucks).
Besides SKDS, Armizan said the targeted subsidy programme is channelled through several mechanisms which includes BUDI Diesel for individuals, BUDI Agri-Komoditi for farmers, livestock breeders and smallholders, both administered by the Ministry of Finance (MoF).
While the Fishermen’s Diesel Subsidy Scheme, he said is administered by the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security (KPKM), while the Subsidised Diesel Control System (SKDS) is managed by the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN).
Under the SKDS, he said, diesel subsidies are provided to eligible business entities, companies and cooperatives nationwide through the fleet card system, with fixed quotas determined according to the type of entity, vehicle use class and technical vehicle category.
