12 Inanam houses razed
Firemen fighting the blaze in Inanam.
KOTA KINABALU: Fire destroyed 12 semi-permanent houses in Kg Kalansanan, Inanam, on Friday night. No casualties were reported.

The State Fire and Rescue Department, in a statement Saturday, said the department received a report on the blaze at 9.20pm on Friday.

The fire involved 12 semi-permanent houses covering an area of 277.34 square metres. Eleven of the houses were destroyed while one suffered 50 per cent damage.

Firefighters from the Lintas, Kota Kinabalu and Penampang stations arrived at the scene, about 5km from the nearest station, at 9.30pm.

The operation was brought under control at 10.48pm and concluded at 1.27am on Saturday after the area was confirmed safe.
