BEAUFORT: A newlywed couple here captured public attention after the bride’s family chartered a special train to transport the wedding party back to the bride’s village following a church blessing ceremony.
A video shared on Facebook by Theresa Baratus last Friday showed the bride and groom, along with family members and guests, boarding the train before setting off for the bride’s home, where the wedding reception was held.
According to the post, the train also stopped at Kampung Halogilat Station to pick up additional guests before continuing its journey along a scenic route, including views of the picturesque Padas River, renowned for its natural beauty.
The festive atmosphere continued throughout the journey, with passengers singing, laughing and enjoying the unique experience, making the short trip a memorable part of the couple’s special day.
Upon arrival, the newlyweds and their entourage were welcomed with traditional customs, including the beating of gongs, before being escorted to the bride’s home for the wedding reception.
The unusual celebration drew widespread attention on social media, with many netizens praising the family’s creativity in incorporating train travel into the wedding festivities.
