PAPAR: Police have detained three local men, aged between 19 and 25, to assist investigations into the alleged unauthorised use of a debit card believed to have been used without the owner’s consent.
Papar District Police Chief Supt Heryan Mohd Tahir said several items linked to the case were also seized during the operation.
He said the suspects were arrested during a police operation at a hotel here at about 9.30am on Saturday.
Heryan advised the public not to use bank, debit or credit cards belonging to others, even if they are found, but to hand them over to the issuing bank or the nearest police station.
He also urged cardholders to safeguard their bank cards and to immediately block them and notify their bank if they are lost or misplaced.
He said police remain committed to combating commercial crime to protect public safety and wellbeing.
