KUDAT: Police arrested six suspects, including a woman, believed to be involved in drug trafficking and seized 161g of syabu along with other items worth an estimated RM16,000 in raids at several locations around Kudat on Monday night.
Kudat police chief Supt Mohd Haris Ibrahim said the operation, carried out by a team of officers and personnel from the Sabah Police Contingent Headquarters (IPK), was conducted between 7pm and 4.45am.
He said the raids were carried out at Kampung Tanjong Kapor, Landung Ayang, Perpaduan, PPR Taman Ehsan and Kampung Muhibbah.
Mohd Haris said all the suspects and seized items were taken to the Kudat district police headquarters for further action and investigation, with the suspects to be remanded to assist investigations under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
He also welcomed public cooperation and information to help police curb drug abuse and trafficking, saying community support is vital in combating such criminal activities for the wellbeing of the community.
