Probe viral video containing graft allegations, cops urged
Kota Kinabalu: The Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) Api Api Division wants police to investigate a viral video containing corruption allegations against several Gabungan Rakyat Sabah leaders, saying it also contains provocative content that could threaten public harmony.

Its Publicity Chief Arthur Mojugah said the video, circulating on social media, made serious corruption claims against GRS leaders without any judicial findings or verified evidence.

“The dissemination of serious allegations without verified evidence risks damaging reputations and may incite hatred or undermine social stability,” he said in a statement.

He said the video also depicted a symbolic act involving the image of a GRS state assemblyman, which he described as an act of insult or political provocation with no place in a democratic society.

The 2026 D-MAX also introduces an 8-speed automatic gearbox with sequential shift across the range, including the Single Cab variant, making it the first pick-up truck in Malaysia to offer an automatic transmission in that body style.
He said freedom of expression must be exercised responsibly and within the law, and should never be used to spread unverified allegations or incite hostility.

Anyone with credible evidence of corruption should lodge a report with the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission, he said, so the matter could be investigated independently and professionally.

“We want police to conduct a thorough investigation to identify those behind the video and determine whether offences such as criminal defamation, incitement, or public provocation had been committed.

“Every individual is entitled to the presumption of innocence until proven guilty. At the same time, those making serious allegations must be accountable for their statements,” he said.

The LDP Api-Api Division also called on political parties, students, civil society groups and the public to practise responsible political discourse and resolve differences through lawful means rather than through provocation or trial by social media.
