TAMBUNAN: Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) Tambunan Division Chief Dr Rockey Jerome Budin urged the Ministry of Transport and Road Transport Department (JPJ) to reconsider the proposed closure of the JPJ Tambunan branch on Aug 31.
He said if implemented, it would not only make daily transactions more difficult for the public but also reduce access to essential government services for residents in the interior.
“If the Tambunan branch is closed, all JPJ-related matters would have to be conducted at the JPJ Keningau branch, located about 55km from Tambunan,” he said, Saturday.
Rockey, who is also the District Community Development Officer (CDO), said the journey takes nearly an hour each way. As a result, transactions that could normally be completed within an hour would take almost one whole day.
