Kota Kinabalu: A 67-year-old man pleaded not guilty in the Sessions Court on Friday to a charge of sexually touching an 11-year-old girl.
Salamin Parman is accused of touching the child's breasts at about noon on Feb 26 this year in a women's surau room in Tamparuli, Tuaran.

He was charged under Section 14(a) of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017, which provides for imprisonment of up to 20 years and whipping upon conviction.
Sessions Court Judge Amir Shah Amir Hassan fixed Aug 13 for further mention and granted bail of RM10,000 with RM5,000 to be deposited in two local sureties with permanent addresses and employment, while ordering Salamin to report to the nearest police station once a month, surrender his passport, if any, and refrain from contacting prosecution witnesses.
Deputy Public Prosecutor Nurul Shafeerah Mad Iskim appeared for the prosecution, while Salamin was unrepresented.
