Kuala Lumpur: A customer has raised hygiene concerns after allegedly spotting a rat running around a raw food display at a Malatang restaurant here.
The customer shared videos of the alleged incident on
Threads, claiming it occurred on July 7 after he had finished his meal and that staff, who were allegedly using their mobile phones, failed to notice the rat.

The post quickly went viral, with many social media users calling on the Health Ministry to inspect the premises, while some claimed they had previously experienced poor hygiene and food poisoning after dining at the restaurant.
The customer alleged he and a friend were at the restaurant from midnight until about 1.30am and noticed uncleared tables while staff were on their phones, adding that an employee told him it was the restaurant's first rat-related incident.
The restaurant has yet to respond to the allegations.
