Wild elephant briefly halts traffic in Gerik

GERIK: A wild elephant temporarily halted traffic along the Gerik trunk road after approaching several vehicles in an incident captured on video and widely shared on social media.

The TikTok video posted by @iman_shajaya, believed to have been recorded on July 3, showed the elephant emerging from the forest before walking around a white Toyota Alphard, while a motorcyclist behind the vehicle slowly reversed to maintain a safe distance.

The elephant later crossed to the opposite side of the road, allowing waiting motorists to continue their journey, with no injuries or damage reported.

The woman recording the incident was heard reciting prayers throughout the encounter, while the video drew thousands of reactions online, with many expressing relief that everyone escaped unharmed.
