Kota Kinabalu: A silat coach pleaded guilty at the Sessions Court here on Friday to sexually harassing his student three years ago.
Yuslaine Awang Yusof, 40, changed his plea and admitted to the charge before Sessions Court Judge Marlina Ibrahim when the case was brought up for mention.
The court deferred sentencing to July 14 this year.
Yuslaine was accused of committing the offence against a 15-year-old girl by hugging her and touching her breasts at a hostel in Putatan at about night time on Aug 26, 2023.
The offence, under Section 14(a) of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017, carries a maximum jail term of 20 years and whipping upon conviction.
Deputy Public Prosecutor DK Afiqah Alya AK Johari @ Pg Johari appeared for the prosecution, while Yuslaine was represented by counsel Michelle Usman.
