“The three new Bills are the Islamic Inheritance Law Bill 2026, the Native Courts Bill 2026 and the District Chiefs, Native Chiefs and Village Chiefs Bill 2026.

“A total of nine Bills will be debated. Of that number, five are amendment Bills, including the Sabah Ports Authority (Amendment) Bill 2026 and the Sabah Ports (Privatisation) (Amendment) Bill 2026, which involve a change in the ministry’s name.

“All Bills brought to the State Assembly are important; if they did not carry significance, they would not be tabled for debate,” he told the media when met at the Sabah Assembly building, Tuesday.

Kadzim reminded all assemblymen to adhere to the Standing Orders and to use their debate time prudently throughout the sitting.

“So far, the quality of debates in the House has been good, with most members raising sound issues and delivering quality debate content.

“It is vital to comply with the standing orders and the Speaker’s instructions, remain decorous when speaking and respect the rules and the institution of the House,” he said.
