LAHAD DATU: Police arrested four local men and seized 54 grammes of drugs believed to be syabu during Op Tapis and Op Taring Esszone, here, Wednesday.
Lahad Datu police, in a statement, said the suspects, aged between 30 and 52, were detained in an operation conducted by the district Narcotic Crime Investigation Division with the assistance of the General Operations Force (GOF) Battalion 17 Lahad Datu.

During the operation, police seized 54gm of syabu, estimated to be worth RM6,000, concealed inside a cigarette box and a sling bag. A motorcycle and a mobile phone were also confiscated.
Urine tests conducted on the suspects found that some had tested positive for amphetamine and methamphetamine.
All four suspects have been remanded to facilitate investigations under Section 39B, Section 12(2) and Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
Police stressed that they would not compromise with any form of drug-related activity and would continue intensifying enforcement operations to curb drug offences in the district.
