SEMPORNA: Police arrested two foreigners and seized drugs believed to be syabu in separate raids at Kg Bangau-Bangau and Kg Panji on Thursday.
Semporna District Police Chief Supt Tan Hiap Wah said the first suspect, a 32-year-old man, was detained during a raid along the roadside in Kg Bangau-Bangau.

The suspect was found in possession of 0.32 grams of syabu worth about RM20 and was detained for investigation under Section 12(3) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
“The second suspect was detained on the same day along the roadside in Kg Panji. The 27-year-old foreigner was found with 5.49 grams of syabu worth about RM450.
“He was detained for investigation under Section 39A(1) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952,” he said.
Tan said both suspects had been taken to the Semporna District Police Headquarters for further investigation.
Meanwhile, he stressed that the police would continue intensifying operations to curb drug abuse and trafficking activities in the district.
He also called on members of the public to channel information to the police to assist efforts in combating drug-related activities.
