HONG KONG: Veteran Hong Kong actor and filmmaker Patrick Tse, one of the biggest stars of Chinese cinema and the father of actor-singer Nicholas Tse, has died at the age of 89.

His children, Nicholas and Jennifer Tse, announced that he passed away peacefully after a period of declining health, paying tribute to his decades-long contribution to the entertainment industry.

Patrick enjoyed a career spanning more than seven decades and appeared in over 200 films and television productions. In 2022, he became the oldest recipient of the Hong Kong Film Award for Best Actor for his role in Time.
