Kota Kinabalu: Sabah FC has officially bid farewell to 14 players who will leave the Rhinos ahead of the new Malaysia League season.
In an official statement on the club’s social media platform, the management expressed its appreciation for the commitment, sacrifices and contributions shown by the players throughout their time with the Kota Kinabalu-based club.

Sabah FC said the contributions of each player were meaningful and would always be remembered as part of the club’s history.
The club concluded its statement with the phrase “Once a Rhino, always a Rhino” while wishing all the departing players continued success in their professional careers with their respective new teams.
The mass departure involves a combination of foreign imports, experienced players and local talents.
Among the notable names confirmed to be leaving the team are experienced goalkeeper Khairul Fahmi Che Mat, as well as Fergus Tierney, Gabriel Peres, Gary Steven Robbat, Kumaahran Sathasivam, Jafri Chew, Maxsius Musa, Dean Pelekanos, Ernesto Phumipha, Belfort Kervensfils, Chris Ondong Mba, Shahrol Nizam Rahman, Ritchie Svenson and Amir Jef Anjam.

The decision to release the 14 players marks the beginning of a major squad rebuilding phase for Sabah FC.
With several key players choosing to move on after completing their stint with the team, the club is now preparing to reshape its squad with a refreshed line-up ahead of the upcoming season.
