Kuala Lumpur: A moderate magnitude 5.7 earthquake struck northern Sumatra, Indonesia, at 12.18pm on Wednesday.
The earthquake occurred at a depth of 10km, with its epicentre located at latitude 4.2° North and longitude 97.6° East, about 55km southwest of Langsa.

The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) said tremors were felt along the west coast of Peninsular Malaysia and urged those who experienced the shaking to complete its online earthquake questionnaire.
