Kota Kinabalu: The State Government and Petronas have affirmed their joint commitment to increase contract award value to Sabahan contractors without compromising safety, technical requirement, cost, schedule and quality, and to increase employment of Sabahans in the oil and gas business in a structured and sustainable manner.
The State Government established SMJ Sdn Bhd (Company No. 1103773-X) as the State oil and gas company to oversee, direct, and coordinate the State’s participation in the whole value chain of oil and gas activities in Sabah.
“This is in line with State Government’s initiative to increase its participation in the oil and gas industry and its value chain alongside with Petronas under the Commercial Collaboration Agreement (CCA),” Sabah Oil Gas Services Council (SOGSC) Veep and spokesman Jesselton Jason told Daily Express.
