Kota Kinabalu: SMJ Energy Sdn Bhd (SMJE) handed over RM89.461 million in contributions to the State Government at the State Legislative Assembly Building on Tuesday, witnessed by Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor.

SMJE Group Chief Executive Officer Datuk Dr Dionysia Kibat presented replica cheques for a RM50 million dividend for the financial year ended 2025 and RM37.96 million in State Sales Tax (SST) payable to the State Government for last year.

Since 2023, SMJ Energy has paid a cumulative RM210 million in dividends to the State Government, with the payments supported by distributable reserves, a stronger cash position and disciplined financial management.

Dr Dionysia also handed over RM1 million for the Sabah State Government Scholarship Fund and RM500,000 to Yayasan Kebajikan Sabah (YKS) as part of the company’s corporate social responsibility contributions.

The 2026 D-MAX also introduces an 8-speed automatic gearbox with sequential shift across the range, including the Single Cab variant, making it the first pick-up truck in Malaysia to offer an automatic transmission in that body style.
Hajiji said the dividend payment and SST handover reflected SMJE’s financial performance and its role in increasing Sabah’s participation in the oil and gas sector, while SMJE chairman Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun said the company would continue managing the State’s strategic investments prudently for sustainable returns.
