Since 2023, SMJ Energy has paid a cumulative RM210 million in dividends to the State Government, with the payments supported by distributable reserves, a stronger cash position and disciplined financial management.
Dr Dionysia also handed over RM1 million for the Sabah State Government Scholarship Fund and RM500,000 to Yayasan Kebajikan Sabah (YKS) as part of the company’s corporate social responsibility contributions.
Hajiji said the dividend payment and SST handover reflected SMJE’s financial performance and its role in increasing Sabah’s participation in the oil and gas sector, while SMJE chairman Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun said the company would continue managing the State’s strategic investments prudently for sustainable returns.
