Probe underway into damage at Putatan prayer pavilion

PUTATAN: Police are investigating an act of mischief involving a prayer pavilion at Sinundu Miracle Hill in Kampung Duvanson here, after receiving a report that the premises had been ransacked and several items inside were believed to have been damaged.

Penampang police chief Supt Sammy Newton said the report was lodged on Monday after the prayer pavilion was found in a disordered condition, with the damage believed to have been caused by an unknown individual.

He said the case is being investigated under Sections 427 and 295 of the Penal Code.

Sammy said the police take any act that could affect community harmony, public order, and religious sensitivities seriously, and advised the public not to speculate or spread unverified information that could disrupt investigations.
