KENINGAU: A majority of the Bingkor Parti Solidariti Tanah Airku (Star) committee members announced their immediate resignation from the party on Tuesday.
The announcement was made at a special gathering led by Bingkor Star vice-chief Danil Palangi, who said the decision was made voluntarily after considering the party's political direction and the interests of the people in Bingkor.
Danil said the decision was reached collectively without pressure from any party, adding that they believed Star was no longer able to meet the aspirations and expectations of much of the division's leadership and grassroots members despite their role in helping build the party in Bingkor.
He said the group remained committed to serving the people by continuing to engage with the community and assist in addressing local issues despite no longer being members of Star.
Danil also expressed continued support for Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor's leadership, describing it as focused on political stability, inclusive governance and the development of Sabah, while urging the public to remain united in supporting the state's development agenda.
