Kota Kinabalu: City Hall (DBKK) officials have been urged to work towards transforming Kota Kinabalu into a dynamic and modern city, while preparing for the challenges of future growth due to rapid urbanisation.
“The State Capital has progressed by leaps and bounds since it was granted city status 20 years ago on Feb 2, 2000. “However, with rapid urbanisation and growth, there are new challenges we must overcome to ensure the city remains a safe and flourishing place to live, work and enjoy,” said Mayor Datuk Seri Dr Sabin Samitah.
He underlined the need for DBKK to be prepared for urban growth issues such as rising populace, traffic congestion and lack of green spaces.
