KUDAT: An unidentified body was found washed ashore at Kampung Damaran Beach, Pulau Banggi, on Wednesday. It was the second after another was found at the Angkasa Baru fish jetty on Sunday.
District Police Chief Supt Mohd Haris Ibrahim said the body, believed to be that of an adult male, was found near Kampung Damaran Beach.
He said police received a report about 11.30am, after which a team from the Karakit police station was dispatched to the scene to conduct investigations.
A search did not find any identification documents or personal belongings that could assist in identifying the victim.
Mohd Haris said the body was taken to Kudat Hospital for further action and the case has been classified as a sudden death.
He appealed to the public with information regarding the victim’s identity or any missing family members to assist police by contacting the investigating officer, Karakit Police Station Chief ASP Mohd Yassin Sagap, at 013-5545531, or by visiting the nearest police station.
