PAPAR: A 15-year-old boy drowned while swimming in a river near Kaiduan Luluba Eco-Tourism site here on Sunday.

The  Fire and Rescue Department said firefighters from the Papar station were dispatched after receiving an emergency call at 12.30pm and arrived at the scene at 1.10pm.

The victim had been recovered by members of the public before firefighters arrived, after which the rescue team administered cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).

The Ministry of Health confirmed the victim's death at the scene before the body was handed over to police for further action, and the operation concluded at 2.15pm.
