Kota Kinabalu: The Federation of Malaysian Manufacturers (FMM) Sabah Branch paid a courtesy call on newly appointed State Secretary Datuk Zainudin Aman on Monday to discuss issues affecting the manufacturing sector, including port congestion, labour matters and talent development.

FMM Sabah Chairman Liaw Hen Kong raised concerns over congestion at Sapangar Bay Container Port, demurrage charges and yard congestion surcharges, while also proposing greater industry participation in discussions involving government-linked companies and the revival of the Sabah Labour Advisory Council.

Zainudin welcomed FMM's recommendations and expressed support for initiatives to strengthen Sabah's manufacturing sector, with both sides expressing optimism for closer collaboration to support the State's industrial development agenda.
