Proposals from all YBs welcome
Assistant Rural Development Minister Datuk Juil Nuatim
THE State Government said District Action Committee meetings continue to involve Federal and State agencies and departments, while welcoming development proposals from all assemblymen for their respective constituencies.

Assistant Rural Development Minister Datuk Juil Nuatim said this was the Government’s practice and remains the current approach when responding to a question from Sebatik Assemblyman Manahing Tinggilani.

“For the information of the Honourable Member for Sebatik and this august House, the Government’s practice, both previously and at present, is to invite Federal and State agencies or departments to District Action Committee meetings,” he said.

He said the Ministry welcomed views and proposals from all assemblymen regarding development needs in their constituencies, adding that such proposals could be submitted to the District Officer, who serves as the committee’s secretariat, and that all submissions would receive due consideration.

The 2026 D-MAX also introduces an 8-speed automatic gearbox with sequential shift across the range, including the Single Cab variant, making it the first pick-up truck in Malaysia to offer an automatic transmission in that body style.
In a supplementary question, Manahing asked whether the Government intended to issue clear guidelines to ensure all assemblymen, regardless of political affiliation, are invited to District Action Committee meetings as it was important for elected representatives to be informed of developments in the areas they represent.

In response, Rural Development Minister Datuk Rubin Balang said that at present, the District Office will not invite assemblymen who are not aligned with the Government because of differing policies.

“However, the Honourable Member is welcome to propose any needs of the people in the Honourable Member’s constituency,” he said.
