Plan to set up childcare centres at all government offices
Julita said Jhewa currently operates a Taska at Wisma Wanita, benefiting civil servants from nearby government departments.
THE Sabah Government plans to establish childcare centres (Taska) at all State Government offices to help ease the burden on working parents, said State Minister of Women, Health and People’s Wellbeing Datuk Julita Majungki.

She said her ministry is currently preparing standard operating procedures (SOPs) and regulations to facilitate the establishment of the childcare centres across government offices.

“The State Government is concerned about the challenges faced by working parents in obtaining childcare facilities that meet safety standards and provide quality care.

“My ministry, through the Sabah Women’s Affairs Department (Jhewa), plans to expand the establishment of Taska at all State Government offices and is in the process of preparing the standard procedures and regulations for this purpose,” she said during the State Legislative Assembly sitting on Tuesday.

The 2026 D-MAX also introduces an 8-speed automatic gearbox with sequential shift across the range, including the Single Cab variant, making it the first pick-up truck in Malaysia to offer an automatic transmission in that body style.
Julita said Jhewa currently operates a Taska at Wisma Wanita, benefiting civil servants from nearby government departments.

She added that similar childcare facilities are also available at Menara Kinabalu, the Public Works Department headquarters and the Yayasan Sabah Complex.

As additional support for early childhood care and education, Julita said the National Unity and Integration Department (JPNIN) also operates Taska Perpaduan centres.

She said Sabah currently has two JPNIN-operated Taska Perpaduan, namely Taska Perpaduan Nosoob Baru in Penampang and Taska Perpaduan Goshen in Kota Marudu.

She was responding to Tanjung Keramat assemblyman Datuk Shahelmey Yahya, who asked whether the State Government had any initiative to provide Taska or temporary childcare centres similar to those established by the Federal Government in government buildings or premises to ease the burden on working parents.
